Frequently Asked Questions

How important is getting the right frame size?
Very important for comfort and safety. A frame that's too large is difficult to control and makes it hard to reach the ground at stops. A frame that's too small causes cramped positioning, knee pain, and back strain. Being within one size (2-3 cm) of your ideal is usually fine for casual riding.
What if I'm between two frame sizes?
If you're between sizes, go with the smaller frame. A slightly small frame can be adjusted with a longer stem and higher seatpost, while a too-large frame can't be made smaller. For rental bikes, ask the shop to adjust the seat height and handlebar position.
Are e-bike frames sized differently than regular bikes?
E-bike frames use the same general sizing as their non-electric equivalents (road, mountain, or hybrid geometry). However, the added battery weight makes it even more important to get the right size, as an ill-fitting e-bike is harder to handle at speed. Most e-bikes come in S/M/L rather than exact cm sizes.
