Little River Stables is our test stable in Townsend, Tennessee: twelve horses, two wranglers, rides of one or two hours four times a day. Every screen below comes from it, on Saturday the 17th.

The ride has one page with its lengths: an hour at 9, 11, 1 or 3, two hours at 9 or 1. The twelve horses are the ride’s own numbered units, so every rider takes a horse and two rides at once share the herd. On Saturday at 9 eight riders are booked and Dolly is at the vet: the form says three are left.

Each rider signs the waiver from the booking’s link, with the age, the weight and how often they’ve ridden. The weight field stops at 230 lb: the Brooks booking has two of three signed, and when Wade enters 245 the form refuses it and says why, days before the ride, so the stable can call.

The farrier, the Coggins and the vet: the herd’s care on the list.

A horse goes out on a trail with an expired Coggins test, and a lame one is saddled by mistake.

Every horse has two dated rules: the farrier every six weeks and the Coggins test every year, counted from the last visit logged. The list shows Maple’s Coggins overdue and Scout’s farrier due, each with Create job; Dolly is at the vet: a job takes the horse out of the herd until Monday, which is why Saturday has three horses left, not four.

At 8:45 the wrangler counts saddled horses against a clipboard, and finds out Dolly is on stall rest when the halter comes back empty.

Can I set different ride types with different durations?

Yes. Each ride has its lengths (one hour, two hours, a sunset ride) and each length its own start times and price.

How do rider weight and experience limits work?

Every rider puts the age, the weight and the experience on the waiver; the form refuses a weight over your limit and says why, before the day.

Can riders sign waivers before they arrive?

Yes. Each rider signs from the booking’s link on their own phone; the booking shows who has.

What if I need to block a horse for vet visits or rest days?

A maintenance job takes the horse out of the herd for those days, and the rides count one horse fewer.

Can I offer group discounts or package deals?

Yes, with a discount code for groups, or a price per ride for a whole booked ride.

Can I sell weekly lessons and lesson packs?

Yes: lessons are classes on the days you teach, with their places, the instructor and the arena, and a pack of lessons is bought once and spent a lesson at a time.

Heat or lightning closes the 1 pm ride. What happens to the riders?

Close the afternoon in one setting so nothing new is sold for it, and move each booked ride to another time from the timeline; a move keeps the riders and the price.
