Adding Bundles or Packages

Creating bundles is easy. You need to first create individual items and then use those items to create bundles. There are several types of packages you can create –

1. Package with all items included(whole package would have a one gross price)
2. Package with optional items (with individual pricing)
3. Package with add-on items (with unique choice)
4. Package with variable items. Learn how to create a package below.

Please keep in mind that bundles are just virtual containers. Bundles are not real products and cannot keep inventory. If you have an item that you want to add add-ons to it, you will have to create it also as individual hidden product.

You cannot have bundles with bundles as addons. That is called composite product and right now is in our roadmap.

Type 1   Creating Package (All Items Included)

 1. Create Individual Items

Create individual items or use existing items. To create items go to all items > add new. Enter the title, description, image, inventory and pricing for the all items. Check our previous tutorial.

 2. Creating the Package Item

Now again go to all items > add new. Name your package and add descritpion.

 3. Add to a Category or Create New

Assign this package to a category. You can also create a new category from here.

4. Add Image to Package

Now add featured image and gallery images.

5. Turning Into a Bundle

Go to product data tab. From the Drop-down select product bundles.

6. Adding Individual Items

Go to bundle tabs. Click on Add product and search for items you want to add to the bundle.

7. Add inventory stocks to bundled items

Now assign a fixed number of stocks to this item. Make sure to keep the number below your total stock count. In this type of package, we would have a fixed quantity in min, max, and default quantity fields.

In Advance settings, you can change the title, description, or hide the thumbnail for the packaged item. You can even hide the item completely in a visibility setting. We are leaving this as it is now.

8. Add All Packaged Items

Search and add all the bundled items this way.

9. Finally Add Bookable Pricing

Finally, add bookable pricing. Add period for example –

1hour = ‘1h’
1minute = ‘1m’
1day = ‘1d’
1week = ‘1w’
1Month = ‘1M’
1year = ‘1y’

Now pricing Example: Period:1d  Pricing: $350

10. Publish Package

Lastly, go on the top and hit publish or update.

Type 2   Creating Package (with Optional Items)

In this package, apart from the regular items included in the package, there are optional items for the customers to choose. These items are charged additional pricing when a customer adds them.

1. Repeat the Above steps

Follow the same steps in the above package-

Repeat Step 1
Repeat Step 2
Repeat Step 3
Repeat Step 4
Repeat Step 5

6. Make Bundled Item Optional

Make the items optional that you want customers to choose. Checkmark the ‘optional’ box and ‘priced individual’ box. It will make this item be charged additionally from the package price. Do it for all the items you want to be optional and charged on the top of package price.

7. Setup a Discount (optional)

This step is optional. It allows you to apply a percentage-based discount on each bundled item your set up to be priced individually. To add a discount – check the box ‘priced individually’ and add a discount.

Remember the discount is applied to the cart.

8. Add Pricing for Package

Finally, add bookable pricing. Add period for example –

1hour = ‘1h’
1minute = ‘1m’
1day = ‘1d’
1week = ‘1w’
1Month = ‘1M’
1year = ‘1y’

Now pricing Example:

Period:
1d  Pricing: $450

Period additional:

4h
100

9. Publish Package

Lastly, go on the top and hit publish or update.

Type 3   Creating Package with Hidden Items

Because packages are just virtual containers, we cannot keep inventory for them. But sometimes we want to create a bundle with optional items for a product. In this case we need to create a simple rentable hidden product and add it to the bundle as hidden. Check below.

2. Set the product visibility as hidden

3. Follow steps from above to create a bundle with optional items

4. Add to the package the hidden product or products(sometimes you may want to have required items that cannot be rented as single items, like a generator for a bounce house. You may have 10 bounce houses but only 3 generators and in a single day you can only rent max 3 bounce houses)
