Adding Item Options

With Reservety, you have the possibility to create additional choices for customers to choose from with the items. You can ask customers for specific info or charge them additionally for an extra item or service. With the aid of item options, you can do it with ease.

 1. Go to Items > Add Item Options

 2. Add a Global Form

 3. Enter Title

Enter the title for the Item option. For Example – If we want customers to choose a sidewall for the tent. We can name it “Sidewall Option’

4. Apply to a Product or Category

Next, we would link this new item option to the product where we want it to show, or, we can also apply it to a whole category.

To apply it to a product, search for the product name in the ‘Products’ section.

To apply to a whole category, uncheck ‘Disable categories’ and check the desired categories to apply this option.

5. Add Element or Section

In the main area, we have two options. Add element or Add section. A section is compromised of several elements. If you want to add multiple elements click on ‘Add section’ or just straightforward add an ‘Element’.

6. Choose an Element

Choose from the available elements depending on your purpose. You can choose from a heading, divider, date, time, range picker, color-picker, text-area, text field, select-box, radiobuttons, or checkboxes.

7. Using the Right Element

To get things to work right, you have to carefully choose the right element. There are two types of elements content and price.  The element with price can be used to charge additional for certain items. We would understand each of them below!Header: This element is fundamentally used as a title for a section or an element.

Divider: It can be used to create distinctions between different elements.

Date: Can be used to get a date response for customers.

Time: It can be used to get a time detail from the customers like the appropriate time for pick up and delivery.

Range Picker: You can allow customers to choose from a range of values.

Color Picker: Can be used to offer different items based on colors customers choose

Text Area: Get text info from the customer like a Personal Request

Text Field: This one is also to get a text response

Select Box: The most popular element is a select box which can be used used to get a single response from multiple choices. It will show like a drop-down on the product page.

Radio Buttons: These are good for yes or no answers or, to get a response from two choices.

Checkboxes:Checkboxes allows customers to make multiple selections from multiple choices. But you can always limit the choices customers can make.

 

8. Name Your Element

Once an element is added, it is wise to rename it to something, you can easily identify it with. To rename an element double click on it and add your desired text. Remember, this text is only meant for you and is not visible to customers.

9. Adjusting Size of Element (Optional)

With the ‘+’ and ‘-‘ icons increasing or reducing the space, the element takes on the product page. With drag and drop, you can even align two elements in one row.

10. Edit Element

Start editing the element by clicking the pencil icon on the top.

11. Add a Label

The label is the most important thing which tells customers what to do on the product page. For example, if you want customers to choose from different flavor options of a cake. Enter a label ‘Flavor Option’. t is visible on the product page.

12. Create Choices

Go to the general options tab to start creating choices for cake flavors. Make sure to select ‘Yes’ in enabled and make it a ‘required’ option.

Scroll down to enter choices name in ‘Label’, you can also enter pricing (optional), to add more choices click on ‘Add Item’ in the bottom left. After all, choices are added click on the ‘Update’ button to save.

13. Publish

Finally publish your settings.
